Paphos, Cyprus. I am mindful of Stephen Hawking's The Grand Design to ask these basics:
1. What is the origin of gender theory?
2. Are there any exceptions to gender theory?
3. Is there only one valid gender theory?
Hawking argues that a single unified theory is only acceptable within a model-dependent realism and I agree.
So we must start with our model of sex, male and female, which immediately gives us a problem of definitions. Do we keep it simple? [(Male = has a penis)] and (Female = has a vagina)], or do we define as a neurological condition, or do we pick the Olympic Qualification Rule?
Oh dear! Let’s give up on sex and do gender instead.
So the model is now a range those who identify as male at one end and female at the other — phew that’s so much easier. Well he/she would say that, wouldn’t they? [sick]
So, let’s look at history.
God created man, who was lonely so God pinched a rib and made woman. Eve, the first transsexual — nice job God. That makes all men Gay I think?
Ah but Hawkins rightly says we must examine alternative histories. So it’s waves and Buckyballs' time then.
Let’s try evolution and natural selection that might help.
As the dominant species on the planet did we get there by dividing on reproductive capabilities?
Well it certainly helps as we can protect our species better by having disposable males as you need fewer males to continue the species. Ah but I’m back to physical effects and I must keep to gender.
Mustn’t think too much about Quantum Physics and uncertainty here as I’ll end up saying that nothing is located at a definite point as momentum would be infinite but then that has nothing to do with real life has it?
So I’ll keep to Newtonian rules.
So that’s attraction of male to female isn’t it? That’s easy then.
But what if a male is attracted to a male or a female to a female. No sign of God’s intervention there.
OK, mostly the attractiveness of a male to male or female to female is a self canceling force like electricity and magnetism is compared to gravity in the real world.
So heterosexuality rules but like gravity is an imperfect theory dependent on your position on the force field.
So have we got male & female sorted yet and the same from all observation points?
Maybe we need new theory of male & female?
This appears to work for men. Scientific observation in Manchester Gay Village on Wednesday nights reveals a significant number of human beings wearing clothing and adopting mannerisms of the opposite sex. The rules of heterosexuality are also bent and they are not all called Maxwell.
Right do we go back to the forces of nature or switch to the effects of nurture? Are there any effects from nurture? Well only if you let it! You may believe anything because of your upbringing but to include Angels or Fairies would be absurd as this is a science based examination of gender.
So this is where I think we are:
1. Sex: Weakest of four defined as male & female for various reasons.
2. Gender: Sense of maleness or femaleness very strong.
3. Sexuality: Attractiveness to either opposites or same or both maybe weak but mostly strong.
4. Association: Our belief that one of the other three defines who we are maybe weak or strong.
Time for a Feynman diagram then?
That allows all possible histories to be valid for our theory to be true.
We can now deduce that gender theory can cover different universes and different laws though only one will correspond to the one each individual knows.
So chose your universe carefully and let’s do the time warp again.
But then as Hawkins says “a uniform universe is a boring universe” and we’ve not addressed the dimension of wanting to be different a basic human instinct in an over conformist society with laws and lists for seemingly everything.
The desire to be different can produce an apparent randomness in dimensions that can be cute or acute dependent on your perception or education. It can be curled up so we don’t notice or zap us right between the eyes.
Our common sense and observation of looking at the famous four above tells us that quantum probability of more than three large dimensions is irrelevant.
If we look at our universe history from bottom up we use (1) sex, but if we look from top down we use (2) gender, so it makes sense to merge the two or simply make them inter-changeable especially as the politicians can spin their language to appease whatever God you follow and whether or not you believe in creation or the Big Bang.
As Hawking puts it so well “the apparent laws of nature are not demanded by logic or physical principle” and “this may not satisfy our desire to be special or discover a neat package”.
The Goldlilocks Zone
So as we spin around on our little blue planet in the Goldilocks Zone think again of the Hawking “selection principle (anthropic principle)” and the range and lucky coincidences we can all enjoy as hydro-carbon based organisms enjoying the cosmological constant.
Einstein rightly asked “did God have any choice when he created the universe?” so I’ll ask the equivalent “did we have any choice when we created gender theory?”
Gender theory was not created by Gods, but maybe by doctors who thought they might be Gods or God Forbid psychiatrists or psychologists. Human behaviour is so complex and subject to so many influences that patterns or laws or rules become arbitrary.
Our model dependent realism and concepts of reality are the only ones we know.
For our dominant species to be stable and reproduce we have divided ourselves by sex but to aware of our true self we adopt the theory of gender.
Our very existence demands stability, positive energy and “something out of nothing” read Hawkins to your children and maybe they’ll understand that the forces of nature and the matter they act upon require supersymmetry.
So then they’ll know that no one can read your mind to determine your sex/gender. Only the individual human being knows the truth of their being and when there is incongruence they fix it any way they can and tell the gatekeepers whatever they need to get through.
Gender theory is absurd. Division of everyone into either or models is absurd. It might have once made sense to record the number of males and ages to fight wars but it now serves no purpose. We cannot let gender theory dominate anymore but we can allow individual supersymmetry. You are what you know you are — the meaning of life and the rule of three.
